GAC Aion announced that, Guangzhou Andi Technology Co., Ltd., a joint venture between GAC Aion and Didi Autonomous Driving, was approved for industrial and commercial license.
The two parties will work together to build L4 driverless mass production vehicles based on GAC Aion’s redundant vehicle platform and vehicle electrical architecture, integrating Didi Autonomous Driving’s unique L4 autonomous driving technology solution for travel services.
The announcement stated that the first Robotaxi jointly built by the two parties has completed product definition and is undergoing a joint review of design and styling. The first batch of L4 models are planned to be mass-produced next year, and will be fully adapted to Didi’s autonomous driving and unmanned intelligent operation system Huiju Port, and will be connected to Didi’s travel network in the form of hybrid dispatch.
According to previous reports, in May 2023, GAC Aion New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. and Didi Autonomous Driving Company signed a deepening cooperation agreement to jointly launch the driverless new energy mass production vehicle project-“AIDI Plan.” and announced the establishment of a joint venture.
The first mass-produced model will be based on GAC Aion’s AEP3.0 pure electric platform, Xingling electronic and electrical architecture and multi-fusion perception autonomous driving mass production technology, equipped with DiDi’s autonomous driving L4 urban generalization engine and unique autonomous driving for travel services.
