According to Reddit users feedback, during the out-of-the-box experience (OOBE) of Win10 notebooks, a full-screen Microsoft 365 Home Edition trial ad appeared, focusing on the inability to skip to the desktop.
In the post, the user said, “On this Win10 laptop, I can’t get around this full-screen Microsoft 365 Home Edition trial ad to get to the desktop. I have to take the free trial to get to the desktop, and after the trial period I have to pay $100 per year. I’ve obviously cancelled my subscription, but I’m speechless at this approach from Microsoft.
The page provides two options of “Try for free” and “No, thanks”. But after users clicked the “No trial” button, they were then redirected to the payment confirmation page. The user has no choice but to try it first and then cancel it to avoid the subsequent chargeback.
