Fuji has launched a new GFX20-35mm F4 lens for its medium format system, priced at RMB 16,700 and available on September 29.

The GF20-35mmF4 R WR is a wide-angle zoom lens that encompasses a wide range of focal lengths, from ultra-wide angle 20mm to wide-angle 35mm (35mm format 16mm-28mm focal length equivalent).

Officially, with the advanced capabilities of the GFX series cameras, the wide-angle lens with a closest focal length of just 20mm (16mm equivalent in 35mm format) is capable of capturing detailed information, such as expansive landscapes or cityscapes, with high precision and resolution. The wide-angle view is much wider than the field of view of the human eye, allowing you to capture subjects located directly in front of you from close range. Unlike conventional medium-format photography equipment, the lens is easy to use and features a constant F4 aperture throughout the zoom range. In addition, the lens features a compact and lightweight design for enhanced portability.

In terms of specifications, the GF20-35mm F4 R WR consists of 14 elements in 10 groups, including three aspherical lenses, one ED aspherical lens and three ED lenses to effectively control various types of aberrations. To suppress ghosting and lens flare, which are common in wide-angle lenses, the new lens is coated with a nano GI (gradient refractive index) coating that will effectively control tilted incident light to minimize ghosting and lens flare and achieve image clarity.

The GF20-35mm F4 R WR features the ultimate in a compact design, weighing only 725g despite being a constant F4 ultra-wide-angle zoom lens, and the popular 82mm filter aperture is compatible with a wide range of filters. While traditional wide-angle lenses are often large, Fujifilm’s compact design makes this lens ideal for landscape photographers who spend a lot of time outdoors looking for expansive views.
