Foxconn has signed an agreement to set up a factory in the southern Indian state of Telangana to create 100,000 jobs over the next 10 years, according to a Bloomberg report this Thursday.
The agreement was reached after talks between Foxconn Chairman Liu Yangwei and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao following a meeting.
Bloomberg report that the Telangana government did not reveal the size of Foxconn’s investment or specify the products that will be manufactured in the state.
Citing sources, the report said Foxconn plans to add another 53,000 employees in India over the next two years, bringing the number of employees at its southern India plant to 70,000.
