Deep ultraviolet LED (UVC LED) as a new generation of sterilization light source, can destroy the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) or ribonucleic acid (RNA) genetic material molecules in microbial cells in a short period of time, so that they immediately die or can not reproduce, to achieve efficient and rapid broad-spectrum sterilization effect.
Recently, Foshan’s UVC LED product layout has made new progress, targeting the high-end white goods market with the launch of a high-end series of UVC LED new products, with a sterilization rate of ≥99.99%.

According to the introduction, compared with the conventional products in the market, Foshan’s high-grade series UVC LEDs have further improved the light power and photoelectric conversion rate, higher light efficiency and more stable product performance, which can be applied to air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines and other sterilization panels.
Compared with conventional products, the optical power of the product can be increased by more than 30%. Taking a single 100mA UVC LED as an example, the typical optical power of the product reaches 25mW and the photoelectric conversion efficiency reaches 4.5%, higher than the industry average of 3.5%-4%, which can save more than 50% of lamp beads in the terminal application and effectively reduce the comprehensive cost.
Foshan’s official experiment proves that taking E. coli as the sample, the sterilization effect can reach 99.99% after installing a single 100mW high-grade series UVC LED inside the refrigerator and irradiating it for 2h at a low temperature and high humidity of 2-6 degrees Celsius.

In addition, Foshan announced the performance of the new products of the Advanced Series UVC LEDs in terms of stability, airtightness and reliability, which are summarized by IT House as follows:
- Anti-static level of CLASS 3A in HBM mode.
- Simulate high temperature and high humidity environment ageing, 500h optical power maintenance rate at 60℃/90% RH condition is above 85%.
- Successfully passed LM80 certification, ageing under typical current conditions at 55°C, with a 6000-hour optical power maintenance rate of 90%.

Compared with the traditional mercury lamp, the product is smaller and can be integrated to meet the needs of small terminal devices and adapt to multiple scenarios.
