Forza Horizon 5 PC version supports Nvidia DLSS 3, but the effect is disappointing

Forza Motorsport: Horizon 5 ushered in a new version yesterday, bringing support for Nvidia DLSS 3.0 and Reflex for PC players (Steam and Microsoft App Store).

However, there seem to be many problems after supporting DLSS 3.0. Players reported visual artifacts, afterimages, and a significant drop in fluency. Someone posted a comparison video on YouTube. It can be seen that although the display frame rate has increased, the experience after turning on DLSS 3 is more stuck than when it is turned off.

NVIDIA Reflex support, on the other hand, is no problem. This technology reduces system latency, improving player reflexes and aiming accuracy. In Forza Horizon 5, an option called “Low Latency Mode” can be found in the game settings and has three values: Off, On, and Ultra. After turning on the low-latency mode, you can see a small icon in the upper left corner of the screen, showing the system delay and rendering delay. According to NVIDIA, it can bring players a smoother and faster gaming experience.

DLSS 3 left something to be desired in yesterday’s update to Forza Horizon 5, and Reflex is a welcome addition.

Note:

DLSS technology (Deep Learning Super Sampling deep learning super sampling technology), is an NVIDIA RTX technology. Based on the Tensor Core acceleration of the GeForce RTX GPU, it can use low-resolution input (such as 1080P) to accurately predict the process of higher-resolution output (such as 4K) through deep learning and calculation, so that the game can be rendered in 1080p Higher resolution image quality, which increases the frame rate, and then uses AI and game engine data to provide the image quality of native 4K output.
