Sigma launched the Fujifilm X-mount 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN lens in November last year, priced at RMB 3588. Now, Sigma has released a firmware update for this lens, bringing several improvements.
Updates:
Improved exposure stability during viewfinder shooting and live view shooting.
Improved parallax correction accuracy when using an optical viewfinder (OVF) on cameras with a hybrid viewfinder.
Improved operational stability during autofocus drive.
According to the specifications, the 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN lens weighs only 285g, making it easy to carry around on a daily basis. The 50mm end is equivalent to 75mm for a narrower and more detailed angle of view.
The lens consists of 13 lenses in 10 groups, including one SLD lens and three aspherical lenses to reduce dispersion and control aberrations. It is also compatible with in-camera aberration correction, which provides excellent control of aberrations and dark corners. The closest focusing distance at the wide-angle end is only 12.1cm, and the maximum magnification is 1:2.8, giving a different perspective and image when shooting close-ups.
