Firefox 110 for Linux will support importing data from Opera and Vivaldi

The Firefox 109 stable version of the Firefox browser has been released a few days ago, and the current focus of the development team has shifted to the next version. One of the improvements in Firefox 110 for Linux is support for importing data from Opera and Vivaldi.

Firefox for the Linux platform currently only supports two browsers, Chrome and Chromium. In version 110, users can more easily import data from Opera and Vivaldi browsers.

In the Firefox 110 browser on Linux, to import data from other browsers, you need to jump to the main menu and access the bookmark page first. Click the Organizer bookmark (or open via the Ctrl+Shift+O shortcut), then click Import & Backup > Import Data from Another Browser.

One catch though is that users need to install Opera or Vivaldi web browsers on GNU/Linux distributions using the distribution’s native packages (RPM or DEB). Firefox 110 cannot detect these web browsers from sandboxed installations such as Flatpak or AppImage.
