At TGS 2023, Square Enix announced the actual demonstration of the grassland area of “Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth”, with Chiaki Matsuzawa as the host, Kitase Yoshinori, Hamaguchi Naoki and Nomura Tetsuya joining in. The gameplay consists of a grassland open world, moogle house, cloud piano and other gameplays, as well as more mini-games.
The game will be launched on Sony PS5 on February 29, 2024. Compared with the previous game, “Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth” will not share the save files of any version of the previous game, that is, the game will not inherit the previous character’s abilities for equipment materials and other items, special summoning stones can be obtained through “save sharing” in the previous game.
The game itself has a capacity of 150G and uses two discs. When you play the game for the first time, you need to insert two discs for installation. After that, you only need one (“data disc” and “verification disc”).
In terms of game flow, the volume of this game is “much larger”, with the main line taking about 40 hours. With the addition of branch lines and exploration elements, the actual play time will be even longer.
Feature improvements:
- Chocobo system: Not only can it be moved, it can also help find props/ You will encounter stray chocobos during the journey, and you can set this as a fast travel point after helping them repair the damaged store/ Chocobos can be customized.
- Item craft: You can craft items from materials collected during your travels.
- Mini-games: The mini-games in this game are relatively large, and they are not all concentrated on the gold disc.
