FAW announced a cooperation with Hesai, and Hongqi sedan will use the world’s first in-cabin lidar
Hesai Technology announced on the 22nd that it had officially reached designated cooperation with FAW Group. The two parties will jointly create the world’s first in-cabin lidar smart driving solution.
The results of the cooperation between the two parties will be applied to the Hongqi brand’s next-generation flagship pure electric model, which is expected to be mass-produced and delivered in the first half of 2025. The new car will be the first to use Hesai’s ultra-thin long-range lidar ET25.
According to reports, ET25 is Hesai’s first ultra-thin long-range lidar for the ADAS front-mounted mass production market. The body is only 25mm high and can be placed behind the windshield. Officials say that this installation method is wind resistance friendly, not afraid of dirt, and the overall body design is smoother and more beautiful.
In addition, this lidar is also equipped with Hesai’s new generation laser transceiver module. Under the condition of 10% reflectivity, ET25 improves the ranging capability of 905nm lidar to more than 250m. Its overall performance is stronger, and it can also help smart cars promptly judge risks and make safer decisions when encountering complex road conditions.
FAW Car officially announced a number of Hongqi new energy products this year, including but not limited to the following models:
