Faraday Future unveiled FF 91 Futurist at 2023 CES with long-range lidar

Recently, the 2023 CES exhibition opened. At the Innovusion booth of the lidar supplier located in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, Faraday Future displayed the FF 91 Futurist. This is the company’s second exhibitor after many years. The FF 91 Futurist electric vehicle will start mass production in March 2023, and is expected to roll off the production line in early April and be delivered before the end of April, but there is a premise: timely receipt of additional financing of 150 million to 170 million US dollars and Shareholder approval.

The reason why this car will be exhibited at the lidar supplier booth is that it is equipped with Innovusion’s Falcon (Falcon) lidar system. The car’s automatic driving assistance system, with the help of the lidar, can detect to other vehicles on the path up to 500 meters away.

Not only that, FF 91 Futurist can even detect pedestrians and small obstacles on the road up to 200 meters away on the path. In bad weather conditions or in the darkest nights, the system can also provide additional real-time 3D perspective and safer Stable driving experience.

FF Global CEO Chen Xuefeng said, “Innovusion’s long-range and high-resolution Falcon lidar is the only product of its kind that is being mass-produced for consumer vehicles. FF will work with partners like Innovusion to make FF 91 Futurist is setting the industry standard in driver assistance technology.”

In addition, Faraday Future also stated that since 2021, FF 91 Futurist has undergone 26 major system and component upgrades, through 13 key upgrades in the field of electric vehicles, including powertrain, battery, charging, chassis, interior, etc. The 13 key upgrades from computing, sensing, communication, and user interaction to the latest technology of I.A.I have significantly improved the all-round performance of FF 91.
