Fans speculate the return of Shepard over the new MassEffect poster

The first Mass Effect trilogy was a hit. One of the best games of the generation and it ended on a high note. The developers tried to recapture that same magic with the 4th Mass Effect installment but with Shepard out of the picture, it only ended in a disaster. It seemingly looked like the franchise has due to its own grave. But a new Mass Effect poster ended those speculations. At the moment, the game is only known as Maff Effect.  And not only that, it seems like, the great Commander Shepard may be making his return.

Reportedly, BioWare has released a poster, officially teasing the next Mass Effect game. No details of the upcoming game were revealed by the poster. But a YouTuber noticed that the poster came with a synopsis that revealed more information about the new Mass Effect game. Maybe more than BioWare intended to.

The promotional material read, “The show goes on. Shepard’s final quest may have ended the threat of the Reapers but at great cost including Earth itself. While Shepard and the survivors are left to pick up the pieces, fans are left wondering what’s next.”

Soon after that, BioWare changed the synopsis to something generic that said, “ The threat of the reapers might have been ended, but at great cost including Earth itself. While the survivors are left to pick up the pieces, fans are left wondering what’s next.”

The initial synopsis of the poster sparked a fire and it is understandable why the fans of the franchise were so pumped up. BioWare’s Project Director, Michael Gamble, posted on Twitter after the initial confusion to clarify the story. He said, “The original thing was written by the people who run the store and aren’t familiar with the game:).”

So, it seems like this was just a mistake made by the website. After the Mass Effect: Andromeda, which turned out to be a disaster, fans are quite reasonably excited to go back to the game’s roots. While bringing Shepard back from the dead is a step towards it but this won’t erase the past disasters. But the news has generated considerable hype, along with a number of new issues. So, it is best not to think too much of it.
