ES version of the R5-7600X six-core CPU single-core scores up to 20% ahead of the i9-12900K

A sample of the AMD Zen 4 Dragon R5-7600X 6 core processor has been included in the UserBenchmark benchmarking database. The data shared by @TUM_APISAK on Twitter shows that the ES CPU with OPN number “100-000000593-20_Y” outperforms the Intel Core i9-12900K by 20% in single-core performance and 23% in multi-threaded performance compared to the previous generation R5-7600X. 5600X, a 23% improvement over the previous generation R5-5600X.

The same chip has previously appeared in the Basemark GPU benchmarking database with the Gigabyte X670E motherboard.

However, the latest UserBenchmark report shows that it is paired with ASRock’s NZXT B650 motherboard. However, the memory pairing for both is 2×16GB @ DDR5-4800.

The R5-7600X delivers an impressive 55% increase in single-core performance over the R5-5600X

In terms of specs, it’s easy to assume that the 6C / 12T AMD Zen 4 Riptide R5-7600X will have a base frequency of 4.4 GHz (up 700 MHz from the previous generation R5-5600X) and an average speed of 4.95 GHz.

It should be noted that this is not the ultimate acceleration frequency for the Riptide 7000 series desktop CPUs, as AMD has officially demonstrated a range of frequencies well above 5.00 GHz.

Single-Core (ST) Performance Comparison

It should be noted that despite UserBenchmark’s perceived bias in favor of Intel CPUs, the AMD R5-7600X is 20% ahead of the 12th generation Alder Lake flagship (Core i9-12900K) in single-core performance.

The former scored a whopping 243 points, while the latter scored only 200. In addition, the single-threaded performance of the Zen 4 R5-7600X jumped 55% compared to AMD’s own previous-generation Zen 3 Rex R5-5600X.

Multi-core (MT) Performance Comparison

As for multi-threaded performance, the R5-7600X with only 6C / 12T does fall short of the i9-12900K with 16C / 24T.

However, the ES version of the R5-7600X still has a 23% lead over the R5-5600X – presumably stretching to 30% at retail SKUs.

Finally, AMD is expected to launch the Riptide 7000 series desktop CPUs + companion 600 series AM5 chipset motherboards in September 2022.
