In a follow-up tweet, Elon Musk said that Twitter will select tweets and localize them after they’ve been translated before recommending them to users. For example, if Twitter thinks a tweet written in Japanese is interesting, it will be translated into another language and appear in users’ feeds. it is not clear whether these tweets are machine-translated or translated with human touch-ups.
Elon Musk said these recommended tweets from other countries will appear in users’ feeds in the coming months. In addition to the new way of suggesting tweets, Twitter is also working on long tweets, video chats and other new features that will also be available “in the coming months”.
