Elon Musk: Since taking over Twitter, users have seen a third less hate speech

0

Elon Musk tweeted today that users’ perceptions of hate speech on Twitter have improved since he took over the social media platform. Elon Musk said the number of Twitter users seeing hate speech has dropped by a third compared to the initial peak earlier this month.

Elon Musk is following a policy of “freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach” by prioritizing the reduction of hate speech on the platform, according to The Independent.

Elon Musk said he would give people the freedom to speak on Twitter, but if the tweet posted contained hate speech or harmful content, it would have less exposure and fewer people would see it. The new Twitter owner also said that the initial spike in hate speech, which was mainly posted by 1,500 accounts, reduced the perception of hate speech among users by reducing the reach of posts.
