Space X CEO Elon Musk is a well-known space explorer, but he says he hasn’t seen any evidence of sentient extraterrestrial life anywhere, at least not yet.
“A lot of people ask me, do you know where the aliens are? I think if there are aliens on Earth, I’m probably the most likely person to know,” Elon Musk said in an interview with The Tonight Show with Tucker Carlson on Tuesday. “Yes, I’m familiar with the space side of things. But I haven’t seen evidence of aliens. So I’m hoping — if I found an alien, I’d tweet about it right away, and that would probably be the most popular tweet ever. We found one (an alien), guys!” He joked.
Elon Musk recalled a story he heard about a general in the 1960s who wanted to expand the US defence budget and came up with the idea that if an alien was found, the news should be announced immediately.
“You know what would keep everyone from objecting to an increase in the defence budget? If we claim to have found an alien, ‘We need the money to protect ourselves from these guys.'” Musk jokingly explained, “So the fastest way to get the defence budget to go up is to find an alien.” Elon Musk also claimed that he doesn’t believe the government is hiding the existence of aliens from the public and that if the government knew about the existence of aliens, they would announce it in order to easily approve military spending.
Elon Musk added that as far as he knows, there is no evidence of “sentient” life in space, but if there is, he hopes they are “peaceful”.
Elon Musk also shared his concerns about declining birth rates, saying that he would like to see civilisation move “forward and upwards” rather than towards the lower end of the spectrum in terms of population regeneration, saying, “I’m worried about the declining birth rate, for example, Japan had twice as many deaths as births last year. ” that last month Elon Musk also warned that Italy would become “empty” after it became one of the countries with the lowest birth rate in the world. it
