Elon Musk considering firing more Twitter employees as soon as next Monday

Elon Musk is considering firing more Twitter employees as soon as next Monday, this time targeting the sales and partners business unit, according to Bloomberg, a source familiar with the matter said. On Thursday, a large number of engineers resigned and left.

Earlier, Elon Musk issued an ultimatum to Twitter employees: either work long hours at the more “hardcore” Twitter or leave the company with severance pay.

People familiar with the matter said that more employees in technical positions chose to leave than those in sales, partners and similar positions. These people did not want to be named because of discussions about internal matters.

After Elon Musk acquired Twitter on Oct. 28, the company announced 50 percent job cuts of about 3,700 people. Twitter also terminated the contracts of 4,400 contract workers, or 80 percent of its 5,500 contract workers, according to Platformer.
