Back in June, it was discovered that Microsoft was testing a Spotlight-like launcher to quickly execute relevant commands in the Edge browser. Microsoft says Command Palatte is designed to help users more easily access Microsoft Edge’s browser management and developer tools. Those interested can invoke it via the Ctrl+Shift+Space key combination.
Through this shortcut, you will be able to access Tabs, Bookmarks and Collection Management options, and even summon other developer tools (such as emulating a mobile device).
The following is how to enable Command Palatte in DevTools.
(1) Click on the multifunction address bar, type edge://flags and jump.
(2) In the Search Tags text field, enter the DevTools Toaster or Command Palette keyword.
(3) In the DevTools Toaster or Command Palette drop-down menu, select Enabled to enable.
(4) Click the ‘Restart’ button that appears in the lower right corner to refresh the browser settings.
(5) At this point, you can use the Ctrl+Shift+Space key combination to open the Command Palatte command panel in the Microsoft Edge browser.
Once enabled, you can type “Tabs” to manage tabs or “Bookmarks” to manage your bookmark collection.
Alternatively, users can click the ↑ ↓ arrows to select a command and then press Enter to confirm. And click → at the bottom of the toolbar to access developer options.
