Game publisher EA recently announced its second quarter financial report for fiscal year 2024, with revenue of US$1.91 billion exceeding expectations of US$1.8 billion.
Net bookings in the second quarter reached $1.82 billion, an increase of 4% year-on-year. Net profit increased significantly from US$299 million in the same period last year to US$399 million.
EA said results exceeded expectations primarily due to the strength of its EA SPORTS portfolio and the successful launch of EA SPORTS FC 24.
Looking forward, EA expects net revenue in fiscal year 2024 to be approximately US$7.300 billion to US$7.700 billion (currently approximately US$53.436 billion to US$56.364 billion), and net profit is approximately US$1.118 billion to US$1.273 billion.
According to previous reports, after Electronic Arts (EA) terminated its nearly 30-year cooperation with FIFA (FIFA), it launched the “EA SPORTS FC 24” game. The game had a relatively successful start, with the number of first-selling players exceeding FIFA 23.
