An e-sports hotel in Wuhan opened in January this year, and spent a lot of money to configure multiple sets of computers with this configuration, one worth over 10,000 yuan. But the good times didn’t last long, and guests frequently complained that the computer did not live up to its name, the mouse would not move for a long time, and it would freeze at every turn. The hotel also hired a special network manager Wu, who just asked the customer to restart, but still could not solve the problem.
The hotel searched for the reason many times, but the computer hardware supplier sent someone to check, and they all said that the computer was fine, and finally the doubt appeared on Wu, the hotel’s network manager.
After investigation by the police, the hotel network manager Wu had implanted mining software in the hotel computer. This program automatically runs after 60 minutes of standby, causing the graphics card to run at full power and causing the computer to freeze.
After fixing the relevant evidence, the police arrested Wu on July 6. Wu claimed that he had found someone to develop it, and he was just testing it here. If it runs normally, it will be sold to those who need to mine.
At present, Wu has been criminally detained by the police on suspicion of illegal computer control. This is also the first case of illegal computer control detected by Wuhan police.
