DJI today announced the new DJI Mavic 3M aerial survey drone, with a compact and portable, integrated multi-spectrum + visible light imaging system, RTK centimeter-level positioning, omnidirectional obstacle avoidance, 15 km map transmission distance, a single sortie 3000 acres of aerial survey and other highlights, the official said, DJI Mavic 3M will significantly improve the utilization of agricultural resources and production efficiency so that agricultural production more intelligent.
According to DJI, the new Mavic 3M aerial survey drone combines a visible light camera with a multispectral camera, allowing for accurate management of agricultural production with a full view of crop growth. The new Mavic 3M’s upgraded imaging system integrates a 20-megapixel visible camera and four 5-megapixel multispectral cameras (green, red, red-edge and near-infrared). It can realize high-precision aerial surveys, crop growth monitoring, natural resource survey and other applications. The body-integrated multi-spectral light intensity sensor can collect solar irradiance and record in the image file, can be in the two-dimensional reconstruction process of the image data for light compensation, to obtain more accurate NDVI results, to improve the accuracy and consistency of data collected at different times.
The Mavic 3M with RTK module, to achieve centimeter-level high-precision positioning. Flight control, camera and RTK module microsecond synchronization, accurate access to the location of each camera imaging center information, so that the Mavic 3M in high-speed flight can also do without image control aerial survey.
With 43 minutes of cruise time, the Mavic 3M can complete mapping operations over an area of 3000 acres (2 km2) in a single sortie. Charging Manager (optional) supports 100W high energy fast charging, and the aircraft body supports 88W fast charging.
The Mavic 3M O3 is an integrated 2-way transmit signal and 4-way receive signal, supporting 15 km long-range transmission distance. With the optional DJI Cellular module, the 4G-enhanced map transmission and O3 map transmission industry version can work simultaneously to ensure signal stability and safer flight even in mountainous and building-obstructed environments. The airframe is equipped with multiple wide-view vision sensors to accurately detect obstacles in all directions and achieve omnidirectional obstacle avoidance. In the face of large slope mountain scenes, combined with under-fuselage vision sensors can directly realize the aerial survey of imitation land, bringing a single sortie 850 acres of mountain forest and fruit trees aerial survey efficiency.
In terms of application, Mavic 3M can be used for aerial surveys of fruit trees, precise variable operation, intelligent field patrol, environmental monitoring and natural resource survey.
