DJI today announced a new Mini 2 SE drone with a few upgrades compared to the company’s existing entry-level drones.
Weighing less than 249 grams, the DJI Mini 2 SE fits easily in the palm of your hand, and its low weight, small size and folding legs make it very portable.
Its camera uses a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor capable of shooting 2.7K video or 12-megapixel photos, and the camera is mounted on a three-axis gimbal for stable video and photos. DJI equipped the Mini 2 SE with QuickShots and Panorama modes, making it easy to take more creative videos and photos, and it also supports 4x digital zoom when shooting HD videos.
The most worth mentioning is that DJI has equipped the Mini 2 SE with Ocusync2.0 image transmission technology, which means that compared with the original Mini SE, the flight distance of the new drone has doubled, and it can fly within 10 kilometers. Stream HD video. However, most judicial agencies require drones to fly within the line of sight, and a drone as small as the Mini 2 SE is likely to be out of sight before you have the opportunity to fly it 10 kilometers away. Can’t see it anymore.
According to DJI, the Mini 2 SE has level 5 wind resistance and can hover stably under a wind force of 10.7 m/s. But unlike the DJI Mini 3 Pro, the Mini 2 SE doesn’t have an object avoidance sensor.
Additionally, DJI says the Mini 2 SE can fly for 31 minutes on a single charge, a modest upgrade from the previous model’s maximum flight time of 30 minutes.
The DJI Mini 2 SE will be available on March 22 at a price of $369 (currently about 2506 CNY). In addition to selling the drone separately, DJI will also offer the Mini 2 SE “Fly More Combo” kit, which, in addition to the drone, includes three batteries, a charger, a carrying bag, and some spare parts for a price of 519 US dollars (currently about 3524 CNY).
