DJI Airport 2 unattended operation platform released, starting at RMB 69,999

DJI officially released the unattended operation platform DJI Airport 2 today. The official price starts at RMB 69,999.

Officials stated that DJI Airport 2 adopts a new integrated and lightweight design and is equipped with the proprietary DJI Martice 3D / 3TD series drones to support high-precision surveying, security and inspection operations; it can be adapted to the DJI Sikong 2 cloud platform It realizes a variety of intelligent functions such as cloud modelling and guided flight, bringing more intelligent, automated and large-scale unattended solutions to industry users.

The official introduction of DJI Airport 2 is as follows:

DJI Airport 2 adopts a high-protection and lightweight design. The entire machine is dustproof and waterproof to the IP55 level. It can operate stably for a long time even in harsh climates and environments. Compared with the previous generation, the volume and weight have been reduced by 75% and 68% respectively. The entire machine weighs only about 34kg and can be transported by two people, greatly improving installation flexibility and reducing installation costs.

For industry users, choosing the best deployment location for the airport is the first prerequisite for automated operations. Airport 2 is equipped with a proprietary Martice 3D series drone, which can detect occlusions in the surrounding environment through its own visual sensors and quickly determine whether the target area meets the deployment conditions. Compared with the original deployment time, the overall deployment time of Airport 2 has been shortened from approximately 5 hours to 30 minutes, greatly improving deployment efficiency.

In addition to lightweighting, a high degree of integration is also key to Airport 2’s design. DJI Airport 2 integrates multiple key modules such as internal and external fisheye surveillance cameras, environmental monitoring systems, dual RTK modules, and UPS power supplies. Each module performs its own duties and cooperates efficiently to complete the work mission.

The internal and external fisheye cameras can display environmental changes inside and outside the cabin in real-time, and sensors such as rain gauges, anemometers, and thermometers form its environmental monitoring system to sense weather changes at all times. Once a mission encounters severe weather, it can promptly alert or abort the mission, effectively reducing flight risks. Dual RTK antennas ensure that the airport quickly enters operation status. The aircraft can obtain accurate return position information without waiting for its own RTK to converge. It can complete blade detection and take off in about 45 seconds at the fastest, racing against time for emergency flight missions.

Airport 2 can quickly charge the aircraft, charging from 20% to 90% in only about 32 minutes, achieving high-efficiency continuous operations. Even if there is an unexpected power outage, it can still work independently for more than 5 hours with the help of the built-in battery, leaving sufficient time for the aircraft to return and land.

The new DJI Matrice 3TD/3D drone designed specifically for Airport 2 is also a highlight of this upgrade. Matrice 3TD is equipped with wide-angle, telephoto and infrared cameras, which can intuitively display visible light and thermal imaging images, and is suitable for security and inspection operations. Matrice 3D drone is equipped with a telephoto camera and a mechanical shutter wide-angle camera, which can meet the requirements of 1:500 high-precision surveying and mapping operations. The two aircraft rely on an ingenious lift-increasing mechanism to provide additional lift when flying forward, optimizing flight efficiency and improving long-range performance. In addition, with the sliding slope centering design of the apron, and with the assistance of a variety of integrated positioning technologies, it can land accurately and safely.

Matrice 3TD / 3D drone has IP54 protection level and has outstanding environmental adaptability. The aircraft can fly forward for up to 50 minutes, significantly improving the efficiency of a single sortie. The maximum effective operating radius is up to 10 kilometers, which can cover a larger operating range. With the DJI-enhanced image transmission module, the aircraft can connect to 4G networks. In complex operating environments, the 4G network link can work together with the original O3 video transmission link to ensure stable transmission and make flights safer. The drone battery can be cycled up to 400 times, reducing the user’s cost per flight by 50%.

Airport 2 is adapted to the DJI Sikong 2 cloud platform, supports a variety of cloud intelligent operations, and is truly unattended. Users can remotely control airports and drone equipment, quickly carry out route planning, issue flight plans and instructions, and collect multi-dimensional information. When the drone automatically performs route tasks in the air, it not only supports omnidirectional obstacle avoidance, but can also automatically bypass obstacles. After completing the route mission, Sikong 2 generates a high-precision three-dimensional model based on the collected route data to truly restore the operating environment. With the help of high-precision three-dimensional models, operators can visually edit routes and preview simulated shooting results through the first-person perspective. In addition, the pointing flight function of Sikong 2 can also automatically plan the optimal route for the aircraft. Before emergency missions, operators only need to Just tap the target point and the aircraft will fly to the destination in an efficient and safe path.

With the cloud API, users can connect Airport 2 to a third-party cloud platform to achieve privatized deployment and assist customers in more industries to achieve closed-loop business flows. The aircraft is not only equipped with an E-Port interface, but also supports the connection of third-party loads such as loudspeakers and searchlights to achieve more functions. Operators can also remotely control third-party loads on the Sikong 2 cloud platform. At the same time, the aircraft also has an E-Port Lite interface that supports access to parachutes, effectively ensuring flight and personnel safety. Airport 2’s open third-party software and hardware applications realize more possibilities for industry innovation.

DJI Airport 2 comes in two packages. The official Chinese selling price of Airport 2, including the DJI Matrice 3D aircraft, starts at ¥69,999, and the domestic official selling price, including the DJI Matrice 3TD, starts at ¥77,999. The above prices are only the price of the product hardware and do not include installation and deployment services and other fees. From now on, DJI’s official industry partners can accept user reservations.
