Blizzard Entertainment announced that “Diablo 4” has “gone gold”, the so-called “gold plate”. This means that the development of the game has been completed, and it has entered the stage of mass production for delivery to the factory.
The term “going gold” means that the game has been vetted by platforms such as Microsoft and Sony for official release. It also marks the end of the game’s main development phase and the beginning of the manufacturing phase, a process that’s now digital but companies used to send out master copies of their games on golden discs. However, that doesn’t mean the developers can’t make some more minor tweaks to make the game even better.
“Diablo 4” had a public test in March this year, which attracted a large number of players to participate. According to Blizzard Entertainment, players played a total of more than 61 million hours during the test period, and at least 2.6 million characters reached level 20. These data show the enthusiasm and love of the players for the game.
“Diablo 4” will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S platforms on June 6, 2023. Pre-orders are now open, and the regular version is priced at NT$2219 (currently about 499 CNY), the digital deluxe edition 2819 NT dollars (currently about 634 CNY), ultimate edition 3119 NT dollars (currently about 702 CNY). In 50 days, players can return to Sanctuary to fight Lilith and her evil forces to the death.
