Next month, Dell will launch the latest XPS “Developer Edition” in the U.S., Canada and select European markets. Dell plans to begin selling the Ubuntu Linux 22.04 LTS-certified XPS Plus 13 Developer Edition notebook this August. The notebook is equipped with Intel’s latest 12th generation Core processors and supports up to 32GB of 5200MHz LPDDR5 memory.

In terms of storage, the notebook is PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD-compliant, plus it comes with a four-speaker array and offers up to 4K+ OLED screens. Dell says

The notebook offers a sleek gridless keyboard design, capacitive touch function rows, a seamless glass touch panel, a bezel-less interface design, and an overall very clean design. The notebook is equipped with Intel’s 12th generation Core 28W processor (up to 15W from the previous generation) and supports a larger fan for 55% more efficient airflow without increasing noise and temperature. In addition, the notebook offers plenty of power and Express Charge 2.0 technology that can charge up to 80 percent in less than an hour.

Jaewook Woo, Dell product manager for Linux, explained, “XPS is a signature product of Dell innovation, from applying cutting-edge technology to experimenting with new user interfaces and designs. By delivering the enhanced performance and powerful features of Ubuntu 22.04 LTS to the most high-end notebooks, Dell and Canonical are working together to reinforce our shared commitment to providing the best computing experience for developers using Ubuntu.

If you can’t wait, you can also purchase Dell’s regular XPS Plus 13 and install Ubuntu 22.04 LTS yourself, and the retail price of the XPS Plus 13 Developer Edition notebook is not yet known.
