The Deepin RISC-V SIG group has successfully adapted the Deepin operating system to the RISC-V server card, the SG2042.
As a 64-core 2.0GHz server card, the SG2042 is a high-performance RISC-V processor with 64MB of L3 shared cache. This successful adaptation is the key to the progress deep into for RISC-V ecosystem.
Deepin OS was officially adapted to RISC-V in V23 Alpha last November. Deepin achieved the core goal of adapting the DDE desktop environment on the RISC-V platform in stage1, and successfully adapted Ali’s Trailing Shadow 1520 platform and StarFive VisionFive V1 boards. At the same time, with the full support of PLCT and Dragon Lizard RISC-V SIG group, the repository package has completed 6511 package adaptations by source code.
This time, the adaptation of the SG2042 server card is done on the basis of stage 1. deep in for RISC-V architecture SG2042 card experience image is developed based on deepin in V23 version, which is equipped with the DDE desktop environment by default, adopts vendor firmware and kernel branch, integrates deep in self-developed application modules, verifies the base system, wired network, USB interface, PC interface, and the kernel. It is verified that the basic system, wired network, USB interface, PCIE and other basic components can be used smoothly, and HDMI can be displayed normally. At present, the repository dependency tree has been improved, and some third-party application packages have been added. The repository provides Deepin’s self-developed applications and common community software and development tools, which can support common office and development work.
In the future, Deepin for RISC-V will continue to fix defects and improve system stability, while continuing to improve the software and hardware ecology and provide lingering package support. In addition to x86_64, the main line will gradually provide support for RISC-V and ARM architectures.
