The new 6DoF gaming-grade PC VR product, the Dapeng E4, was recently released, with the standard version priced at RMB 3,499 and the enterprise version priced at RMB 4,699.
The Dapeng VR E4 features a 16.8 million color RGB full-color light effect, a pearl white body + a colorful exterior screen + breathing light, and allows for custom blinking modes.
Officially, the Dapeng VR E4 features the world’s highest single-screen 4K resolution, with a top refresh rate of 120Hz, and the world’s first 4K & 120Hz 5m HD transmission, which allows a frame to be rendered, transmitted, displayed, and positioned in 8.3ms.
The Dapeng uses 6DoF visual positioning technology based on the Inside-out positioning method, which is in line with human bionics and portability and uses 4 HD cameras to achieve comprehensive positioning without the need to use a base station.
In addition, E4 uses industrial-grade IMU sensors in the selection, with anti-electromagnetic interference capability design, self-research Hawkeye VSLAM 4Cam positioning system, 6DoF headset can achieve millimeter-level accurate positioning in a large space of 10m*10m, 6DoF handle also brings 240° wide-angle tracking effect, can achieve 0.1s high-speed response recognition, millimeter-level dynamic tracking error, sub-millimeter-level static tracking and drift error, angle error only ±1°.
The E4 optical module TV aberration of 0.7 fields of view is less than 4%, so players can still maintain a high level of visual comfort when wearing it for a long time.
At the same time, the E4’s sweet spot Eyebox also extends to 14mm, so that the afterglow is also clear and brings an immersive experience.
It is reported that Dapeng VR has entered into a partnership with Steam to create hardware based on the Steam VR gaming experience. The E4 can already play 7,000+ VR games from the Steam library, such as Green Hell and After The Fall, with new games coming online every year. Dapeng is working with the official US Steam partners, such as the famous VR masterpiece Half-Life.
Also, the E4 Dapeng Assistant, based on the Steam VR API, automatically guides downloading and installation, creating a faster, smoother gaming experience that can be downloaded and played without much debugging or any extra steps to achieve full compatibility.
In addition, Dapeng is also working with a number of VR game makers, and big IPs such as “Sword of the Immortals” are in development.
In cooperation with Nvidia and AMD, Dapeng VR did a lot of testing and finally implemented all graphics cards on the E4; in terms of common interfaces, Dapeng VR E4 also supports DP 1.4, minidp, Thunderbolt, HDMI and other interfaces as standard.
