“The Witcher” series and “Cyberpunk 2077” game developer CD Projekt Red announced its fiscal year 2022 financial results, 2022 revenue of about $ 222 million (currently about RMB 1.527 billion), compared to 2021 fiscal year of $ 207 million growth.
In addition, CDPR’s 2022 net income will be approximately $80 million (currently about RMB 550 million), a 66% jump year-over-year.
The report shows that Cyberpunk 2077’s 2022 sales revenue increased by 18% year-over-year. Typically, game sales revenue declines year over year, but Cyberpunk 2077’s resurgence helped the company have its second-best year on record in terms of sales revenue.
Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most controversial games in gaming to date, with such a sea of problems at launch that it was pulled from the PlayStation Store shortly after its release. cd Projekt issued refunds to players and received intense criticism. However, with the explosion of the anime adaptation Cyberpunk: Edge Walker and the continuous optimization of the game itself, it is now rebounding in both sales and word of mouth.
As you can see from the chart, Cyberpunk 2077 sales skyrocketed in September 2022, which coincided with the launch date of the Cyberpunk: Edgewalker anime.

CDPR is currently planning a number of new games, including a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, codenamed Orion, which is expected to offer online multiplayer capabilities, as well as a remake of the initial Witcher game using Unreal Engine 5, and a new Witcher trilogy is also in the works.
Cyberpunk 2077’s first episodic sourcebook, “Shadows of the Past,” is set to launch in 2023, and according to CDPR’s official update, the company will begin sharing news of the new sourcebook in June.
