Everyone on the cyber cat game “Stray” is no stranger, the work in the last year triggered a wave of play boom but also took the TGA 2022 best independent game.

Stray will be adapted into an animated movie that will be handled by Annapurna Animation, the studio that produced Monster Girl Nemona, EW reports.
In an interview, Annapurna Animation executives said, “It’s about a cat and a robot, and there’s a very funny element to it. So there’s comedy in there, but there’s not a single person in this movie, and I think that’s one of the reasons why this game is very popular, you’re looking at the world through the perspective of a cute cat. How did they achieve that and how will we achieve that in the movie? Even though it feels impossible at times, we know that’s the essence of the game and the key to telling the story.”

According to the report, the authors tried to capture “something very emotional” in adapting the game into a movie, even going so far as to describe the game as having “a sort of ‘hope-punk’ atmosphere “, a narrative concept of resistance with optimism, with the creators aiming to make “the first and greatest hope punk movie ever made.”
The official X account of Annapurna Interactive, the publisher of the Stray game, also retweeted the story, further confirming the accuracy of the news.
