0

It was only a few months back when the new installment of the Crysis series was announced with a teaser. Being just a working title, no additional details were revealed regarding the project at that moment. The last installment of the Crysis series was launched back in 2012, titled Crysis 3. And today, the game director for the upcoming Crysis project was announced via a tweet from the official Crysis account.

The tweet states, “We are happy to announce that Mattias Engström, known for his work as game director for Hitman 3 at IO Interactive, joins the Crysis family as game director for the 4th installment in the Crysis franchise, starting this week.”

Official Tweet About the Recruitment of Crysis 4 Game Director

Now, Mattias Engström is a well-known name with a long resume. Besides working as the game director for Hitman 3, he has also worked on Ubisoft’s FryCry 3 and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations as a level designer. So, there’s no doubt about Engström’s capability. But it still begs the question if his resume is big enough to helm a project as significant as Crysis.

Crytek, the studio behind Crysis also used this announcement to share the current job openings. The German studio is actively recruiting talents for the Crysis 4 project to build a credible team. Roles like art director, game designer, and level designer are still vacant. This only proves fans have to wait for a very long time to even get a taste of the 4th installment of the Crysis series.

In the meantime, fans can check out the previous installments of the Crysis series that have been remastered and released on PS4.
