Cruising range of the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan is released

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan was recently posted on the official website of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and its cruising range and energy consumption data were also exposed, which is similar to that of the 2023 model. There are some interesting changes than that.

Mercedes currently offers a total of four EQE sedans, including the rear-wheel-drive EQE 350+, all-wheel-drive EQE 350 4Matic and EQE 500 4Matic, and the sporty all-wheel-drive AMG EQE. Officially, the 2023 model has an EPA range of between 225 and 305 miles, but there is currently no official data for the 2023 model on the EPA website.

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE’s combined EPA range improves on all all-wheel-drive models, with only the rear-wheel-drive version seeing a slight decrease. The biggest surprise comes from the EQE 500 4Matic. The cruising range has increased by 38 miles to 298 miles (Note: approximately 479.58 kilometers), a full increase of 14.6%.

2024 Mercedes EQE EPA range (vs. 2023 model):

 EQE 350+: 298 mpg (~479.58 km, down 7 mpg or 2.3% from 305 mpg)

 EQE 350 4Matic: 280 mpg (~450.62 km, increase of 20 mpg or 7.7% from 260 mpg)

 EQE 500 4Matic: 298 mpg (~479.58 km, increase of 38 mpg or 14.6% from 260 mpg)

AMG EQE 4Matic+: 230 mpg (approx. 370.15 km, increase by 5 mpg or 2.2% from 225 mpg)

It’s unclear exactly what improvements have been made for the 2024 model, with Mercedes-Benz’s online configurator still only offering the 2023 model, but it appears there may be some optimizations in the all-wheel-drive powertrain and battery. Previously, all EQEs had a battery capacity of 90.6 kWh.

Energy consumption (including charging losses) for the 2024 EQE 350+ is estimated at 96 MPGe or 351 Wh/mile. The all-wheel-drive EQE 350 4Matic uses slightly more fuel at 90 MPGe, 6.5 percent more: 374 Wh/mile, but the more powerful EQE 500 4Matic uses the same amount as the EQE 350+.

The sporty AMG EQE 4Matic+ is the most power-hungry, consuming around 462 Wh per mile (73 MPGe), more than equivalent BMW i5 M60 or i7 M70 models.
