Creative launches new USB sound card Sound Blaster X5: Dual DAC design for $279.99

Creative Technology recently launched a new USB sound card Sound Blaster X5, can provide a high-quality audio experience through dual DAC.

The digital-to-analog converter (DAC) enhances audio on your Mac by converting digital 1s and 0s to analog signals. As a result, it delivers better audio quality over a wider range of sounds.

Sound Blaster X5 is the first product in Innovations’ Sound Blaster family to feature a dual DAC design. Two Cirrus Logic CS43198 DACs provide high-resolution lossless playback at 32-bit / 384 kHz via PCM with ultra-high dynamic range of up to 130 dB DNR.

The DAC can also decode audio formats in DoP128 and DSD256 for high-fidelity audio streaming. The Sound Blaster X5 also reduces audio distortion and delivers a total harmonic distortion rating of 0.00018%.

The device can drive headphones with an impedance of up to 600 ohms and in-ear monitors with an output impedance of 1 ohm. Another selling point of this USB sound card is that it has upgraded the Xamp discrete headphone dual amplification technology in terms of design.

The Sound Blaster X5 adopts a dual DAC and dual Xamp configuration, which isolates and amplifies the left and right channels in the entire amplification chain, effectively eliminating in-circuit interference, noise and crosstalk from the headphone output.

The Sound Blaster X5 features two-way RCA and TOSLINK optical connectors, one port each for USB-C and USB-A, and a 3.5mm mic-in port with a mic gain knob.

The Sound Blaster X5 is currently on sale at the Innovation Online Store, with a retail price of $279.99 (currently about 1890 CNY).
