Well-known hardware brand Fractal Design (Fractal Process) has confirmed that its Lumen AIO series of all-in-one water-cooling coolers need to be recalled because users have reported elevated CPU temperatures.
FD has now confirmed that there are two factors that may cause the heat dissipation not to work, one is the welding material in the aluminum cooler, and the other is the impurities that may be introduced during the manufacturing process, which may trigger a reaction with the chemical components in the coolant, leading to deposit buildup in the CPU water cooling head, which in turn affects CPU cooling.
For this problem, FD said that users with no problems with cooling can continue to use it, but the series of water cooling will not be listed, affected users can fill out the application form on the official website to replace the cooler, users need to find the serial number of the product, the official confirmation is expected to send a replacement product within six weeks.
As for the series of water-cooled radiators, FD said it will develop a new version of the radiator and water-cooling fluid, and subsequent products will be produced in accordance with the newly revised quality standards.
