Completion of Samsung Electronics R&D Center in Hanoi, Vietnam

Today, Samsung Electronics held an inauguration ceremony for its R&D center in Hanoi, Vietnam. This is the first large-scale comprehensive research institute invested by a multinational company in Vietnam.

Samsung’s new R & D center in Hanoi, Vietnam, which will begin construction in March 2020 at a cost of $220 million, will cover an area of 11,603 square meters, with a total area of 79,511 square meters, 3 underground floors and 16 above ground floors, where more than 2,200 researchers are expected to be based, focusing on smart devices and network technology, software-related R & D. It will employ up to 3,000 employees and will be Samsung’s largest R & D center in Southeast Asia when completed.

According to reports, Samsung plans to strengthen the professionalism of the Vietnam R&D center, specializing in the core technology of mobile device software – multimedia information processing, and wireless communication security systems.

Samsung currently has 17 R&D centers around the world, including Canada, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Turkey, the Philippines, the United Kingdom and the United States.
