According to the official release of China Telecom, recently, China Telecom Shandong Qingdao Branch and ZTE completed the construction of 5G coverage within 100 km of Qingdao’s coastal waters, and completed the first round of network pulling tests.
China Telecom Shandong Qingdao Branch testers tested the telecom 5G signal along the way and kept the SINR around 8dB during the whole test. The signal strength was around -90dBm at 10km from the base station, and the download rate was above 100Mbps; the signal strength was around -80dBm at 20km from the base station, and the download rate could reach 170Mbps; the download rate reached 120Mbps at the farthest driving distance of 50km.
The ultra-long-distance coverage is about “standing high and seeing far”, following the construction principle of achieving maximum coverage with fewer stations.
China Telecom Shandong Qingdao Branch built 1 set of communication base stations in Laoshan Laotian and Pass respectively, taking advantage of the height of the base station at the top of Laoshan Mountain, the measured 100M bandwidth sea coverage of 60 km, 20M bandwidth sea coverage limit distance of 122 km, to achieve full coverage of Qingdao southeast sea.
At the same time, through the Laoshan North Mountain two sectors covering the south and southeast direction, Laoshan Pass a sector covering the east direction, with three ultra-far sectors to achieve full 5G coverage of the sea in the southeast direction of Qingdao, in order to meet the data communication needs of remote users while significantly saving investment costs.
