CATL New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and Honda Technological Industry (China) Investment Co., Ltd. (“Honda”) announced today that From 2024 to 2030, it is expected to purchase 123GWh pure electric vehicle power batteries from CATL.
CATL stated that in 2020, Honda and CATL signed an all-round strategic cooperation agreement on new energy vehicle power batteries. The cooperation between the two parties widely covers joint development, stable supply, recycling and reuse of power batteries. .
According to reports, with the continuous expansion of e:N brand pure electric vehicle products and sales, the two parties have further strengthened their cooperative relationship. Honda will purchase 123GWh of pure electric vehicle power batteries from CATL in China between 2024 and 2030. , These power batteries will be produced in the Yichun factory of CATL.
According to SNE Research data, in October 2022, the global installed capacity of electric vehicle batteries will reach 48 GWh, a year-on-year increase of 73.6%, maintaining steady growth for 28 consecutive months. Among them, the installed capacity of CATL reached 18.1 GWh, with a market share of 37.6%, ranking first in the world.
