The RF135mm F1.8 L IS USM is equipped with 3 UD lenses and advanced coating technology such as ASC and NANO USM drive motor for photo and video shooting, with 9 circular aperture blades, weighing about 935 grams and measuring about Φ89.2 x 130.3 mm.
The optical structure of the RF135mm F1.8 L IS USM lens is a 12-group, 17-element design with three UD lenses that have low refraction and low dispersion characteristics, and the official claim is that the UD lenses used in this case have anomalous dispersion characteristics like fluorite, and two UD lenses can have approximately the same performance as one fluorite, effectively reducing axial chromatic aberration and magnification chromatic aberration.
The RF135mm F1.8 L IS USM lens also features ASC (Air Sphere Coating) coating technology and is the first Canon lens of its focal length to be equipped with an IS image stabilizer with 5.5 levels of optical stabilization, and up to 8 levels of synergistic stabilization when paired with an EOS R series camera with in-body stabilization.
