Camera app developer says iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max’s camera module is broken

Users of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max had earlier reported an uninterrupted vibration issue with the main camera when using third-party apps like Snapchat, Instagram, and TikTok. Apple later issued a statement saying it would roll out a software update to fix the issue, but according to developer Halide, it’s possible the underlying difficulties are hardware-related.

Halide believes that the problem is caused by a broken image shift stabilization module.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman mentioned that Apple is working on releasing a fix for the glitch, and Halide, a developer of professional camera apps for iPhone and iPad, replied that the problem was triggered by a corrupted image shift stabilization module. YouTube video posted by content creator Luke Miani. In the video, Miani encounters the same vibration problem as several others when using a third-party app.

Interestingly, this issue was not emitted when using the iPhone’s default camera app; and sure enough, different Twitter users started questioning Halide online. the developer responded that this issue does not occur on the iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max when running the default camera app, and that this is because the app is not launched with The same capture mode is enabled. This mode will then allow stabilization to kick in.

There may be some truth to what Halide is saying, but Apple and its pool of software engineers at the Genius Bar are likely to react to this issue and isolate this software-related problem. Even if the stabilization modules are eventually damaged, Apple will likely replace these modules or any iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max devices affected by this vibration issue.
