Cadillac officials have previously announced the flagship pure electric sedan Celestiq, based on the Ultium platform. Today, officials showed the exterior and interior of the car for the first time, and revealed more details about the car.

According to officials, the Celestiq inherits the craftsmanship and bespoke styling of earlier Cadillac sedans, and draws further inspiration from classic architecture. The Celestiq show car is the purest expression of Cadillac,” said Magalie Debellis, manager of Cadillac’s Advanced Design Division. It brings to life the most integrated expression of design and innovation in the brand’s history, blended in a true Cadillac flagship.”

Inside the car, Cadillac says the vehicle offers a customizable experience for both driver and passenger. The roof features “four-quadrant suspended particle device smart glass,” including four variable lighting zones that allow passengers to fine-tune their cabin experience for completely personalized comfort and visibility.

In addition, the vehicle features five high-definition, state-of-the-art LED interactive displays, and in addition to the 55-inch premium LED display up front, introduces a passenger display with electronic digital blinds, an active privacy technology designed to allow passengers to enjoy video content while keeping it out of the driver’s line of sight.

Cadillac officials said that what was unveiled today was just a show car and that more details on the Celestiq production model, which will be the first to feature GM’s new Ultra Cruise advanced driver assistance system, will be announced later this year.

The Wall Street Journal said that GM makes less than 500 of this model of car each year, starting at about $300,000, according to GM sources familiar with the matter.
