Cadillac Celestiq’s Final Appearance Before Full Debut

Cadillac offered one last teaser of the Celestiq before its full unveiling later this week. While the Celestiq is expected to be in a class of its own, with a price tag likely around $300,000 and a production goal of 500 vehicles per year, the ultra-luxury EV will soon join the Lyriq and become the second full EV from GM’s luxury division.

Erin Crossley, design director for Cadillac Celestiq, said, “Each Celestiq will be unique, allowing each customer to have a personal connection to Cadillac’s newest flagship vehicle.” The EV will reportedly be hand-built at GM’s Global Technology Center in Warren, Michigan, using globally sourced components.

Celestiq is built on GM’s flexible Ultium EV architecture, a platform that enables the Cadillac Lyriq, now in production, to have an EPA target range of more than 300 miles and is also used in GMC Hummer and BrightDrop delivery vehicles. What sets the Celestiq apart from its cousins is its new Ultra SuperCruise self-driving technology from Qualcomm, which will play a role in the company’s lofty goal of rolling out fully self-driving cars by mid-decade.

The Celestiq will be fully revealed via GM Design’s Instagram at 9 a.m. ET on July 22, though news of its actual availability will have to wait until later.
