BYD Dolphin was officially released in the UK market a few days ago. It is expected to be officially launched this summer, and then delivered in early 2024. In the UK, the car will compete with Vauxhall Corsa Electric, Volkswagen ID.3, and MG MG4. According to BYD’s UK official website, the medium-sized pure electric sedan Seal will also be launched soon.
It is noticed that Dolphin offers 4 different versions in the UK, namely Active, Boost, Comfort, and Design, priced at 25,490 pounds, 26,490 pounds, 29,490 pounds and 30,990 pounds. For reference, the price range of dolphins in China is 116,800 to 136,800 CNY.
According to foreign media AutoExpress, the British version of the Dolphin will be larger than the Chinese version, with a length of about 4.3 meters and a trunk capacity of 345 liters.
In terms of power, the entry-level Active and Boost models are equipped with a 44.9 kWh blade battery, but there are differences in power: the maximum power of the Active motor is 93 horsepower, and the Boost is 178 horsepower. As a result, the former has a battery life of 211 miles (about 339.57 kilometers), while the latter has a slightly lower battery life of 193 miles (about 310.6 kilometers). Comfort and Design are equipped with larger capacity batteries, both 60.4 kWh, with a range of up to 265 miles (It is about 426.48 kilometers), and support 88kW fast charging, which can charge from 30% to 80% in 29 minutes.
