BYD’s official announcement, its million-grade new energy hard-core off-road vehicles — look up to the U8 will open a national pre-sale on April 18 and will be on the same day as the Shanghai Auto Show.
BYD announced its “Yangwang” high-end EV brand earlier this year and showcased two mass-produced models of the Yangwang brand: the million-grade new energy hardcore cross-country U8 and the million-grade pure electric performance supercar U9.
The U8 is the brand’s first mass-produced model, positioned as a million-grade new energy hard-core off-road, adopting the family-style design of the U8 brand, the “Gate of Time and Space”, and equipped with the “Easy Square” technology as standard.
“Compared with the traditional fuel car power system, the “Easy Four Square” technology can independently adjust the four-wheel end dynamics of the vehicle at millisecond speed through the electric drive system with stronger perception. This allows for better control of body attitude.
According to the latest official information, the length/width/height of the U8 is 5319/2050/1930mm with a wheelbase of 3050mm, positioning it as a mid-size SUV, even longer than the Mercedes-Benz GLS and BMW X7, and its wheelbase performance is excellent in its class.
In terms of exterior design, the front of the U8 has a huge “I” grille with dot matrix LEDs on both sides and electric hidden door handles. The rear of the car has an “L” and a dot matrix LED light source is very recognizable, and the new car is equipped with LIDAR on top.
Interior design, the new vehicle uses a new design language to build, the middle of the large screen using the mosaic style, the passenger side there is a large screen. In terms of seating layout, the vehicle will adopt a 2+2+3 7-seat layout form.
In terms of power, the new vehicle is equipped with the “easy four-square” power system, providing four wheels and four motors, the vehicle’s single motor maximum power of 220-240kW, maximum torque of 320-420N・m, with the fastest 3 seconds zero hundred acceleration performance, and at the same time can achieve a variety of outstanding capabilities such as turn around in place, flat tire control. In addition, the vehicle is also equipped with an easy four-way blade battery and a non-load-bearing body.
