BYD to launch Luxury EV brands, Starting Price at 1M Yuan

As the electric car market continues to grow, many car companies are ushering in a new round of growth, of which BYD’s growth is the most obvious.

According to the first financial yesterday from informed sources, BYD will release a new high-end brand in the fourth quarter of this year, the brand name is currently more inclined to the name “Star”, and the price of the new car will be more than 1 million yuan.

In this regard, the person in charge of BYD responded yesterday evening that “the high-end brand is tentatively scheduled to be released at the end of this year, the first hard-core off-road models debut at the same time, pricing more than 1 million yuan”. At the same time, the person in charge said that the high-end brand is positioned as a million-level new energy brand, brand, products, sales and service network, operations and other aspects of a new and independent team.

Today, First Financial reported again that a BYD staff member said that entering the high-end car market is the company’s established strategy and that the high-end car brand launched at the end of the year is aimed at traditional luxury car brands, not at Tesla.

Recently, the D9 founding limited edition model launched by the Denza brand, in which BYD holds 90% of the shares, is priced as high as 660,000 yuan. Now it seems that the car will soon no longer be BYD’s most expensive electric car.

BYD has stopped production and sales of fuel vehicles since March this year. The company’s car sales in July reached 162,500, a year-on-year increase of 183.1%. The cumulative sales of new cars from January to July reached 803,800, beating Tesla to win the global new energy Car sales champion.
