According to BYD Semiconductor’s official news, at present, PFC (power factor correction) circuit design is moving in the direction of high efficiency, high frequency, small size, low cost and integration. BYD Semiconductor launched a new IGBT module with integrated PFC based on market demand and technology development trends.
Power factor is a parameter used to measure the power efficiency of electrical equipment, and low power factor represents low power efficiency. The technology to improve the power factor of electrical equipment is called PFC (Power Factor Correction).
BYD Semiconductor has launched two new products:
BG50D07N10S5: 650V 50A rectifier + PFC + inverter module, packaged in BYD miniPIM2
BG30K07Q10S5-R: 650V 30A PFC + inverter + current detection resistor module in BYD miniPIM2 series package
BYD Semiconductor said the two modules are equipped with BYD IGBT5.0 chip, compatible with the mainstream market package size, and optimized DBC layout design, the advantages include low VCEsat, low switching losses, high integration, expandable package, topology form that can be customized according to customer needs.
The two modules can be used for inverter home appliances, commercial air conditioners and other equipment, for PFC application needs, the future BYD Semiconductor will launch a series of PFC power modules covering more package forms and more comprehensive voltage and current levels.
