According to @Dee’s Dispatch express Weibo, on September 28, BYD’s medium-sized coupe Seal was launched in Thailand. Judging from the official pictures, the new car is available in three configurations: “dynamic version”, “exclusive version” and “four-wheel drive performance version”, with a price range of 1.325 million baht – 1.599 million baht (currently about RMB 265,000 RMB 320,000).
According to reports, it is expected that the cumulative delivery of Seals in the Thai market will reach 4,700 units by October this year. The new car adopts a right-hand drive layout adapted to local traffic, and has a maximum cruising range of 650 kilometers.
BYD Auto won the pure electric vehicle sales championship in the Thai market for eight consecutive months in August this year and launched a model ATTO 3 (Chinese name: Yuan PLUS) locally.
In July this year, Nikkei Chinese reported that EV sales accounted for 7% in Australia and Thailand, citing May car sales statistics from survey agency MarkLines. Among them, BYD accounts for 40% of electric vehicle sales in Thailand and plans to build an EV factory in Rayong Province in eastern Thailand.
