BYD held a brand release and new model launch conference in Morocco, and officially launched three new pure electric models for the Moroccan market – Han EV, Tang EV and BYD ATTO and announced the official price.
It was previously reported that BYD reached cooperation with Auto Nejma SA, a subsidiary of the Hakam Family Group, a Moroccan dealer group, in November last year to jointly provide Morocco with new energy passenger vehicles that are popular among consumers.
It is understood that BYD entered Morocco as early as 2017 and announced the construction of a new factory in Morocco, which is mainly responsible for the production of electric passenger cars, buses and trucks. At that time, Wang Chuanfu, Chairman of BYD, Moulay Hafid El Alamy, Minister of Industry and Investment of Morocco, and Mohamed Boussaid, Minister of Finance of Morocco signed a memorandum of understanding in Casablanca.
As of June 2023, BYD’s global sales of new energy vehicles have exceeded 4.6 million, and it has established more than 30 industrial parks around the world. Its new energy vehicles are produced in more than 70 countries and regions, and more than 400 overseas cities.
