BYD and Costa Rican dealer Cori Motors recently brought the ocean series models – dolphins and seals to the famous local EXPOMOVIL auto show for the first time. During the exhibition, BYD displayed six new energy vehicles.
The two models of BYD’s ocean series both adopt the design concept of ocean aesthetics. The five-seat luxury coupe Seal is the first model equipped with CTB battery-body integration technology. The pure electric car Dolphin has a simple and capable appearance, which is recognizable and futuristic.

In terms of design, the front and rear overhangs of BYD Seal are shorter, the wheelbase is larger, and the drag coefficient of the vehicle can be as low as 0.219Cd in terms of aerodynamic design. As an integrator of e-platform 3.0 technology, Seal is equipped with CTB battery-body integration technology, iTAC technology, rear-wheel drive/four-drive power structure, and efficient eight-in-one electric powertrain. The acceleration time of the four-wheel drive version from 0-100km/h is only 3.8 Second.
According to the parameters of the domestic version, BYD Seal adopts battery-body integration (CTB), eight-in-one electric powertrain, heat pump system, boost fast charging and other technologies, and provides three endurance versions. The standard endurance model is equipped with a 150kW rear Motor, CLTC has a mileage of 550km; the long-endurance version is equipped with a 230kW rear motor, and the CLTC has a mileage of 700km; the four-wheel drive version has a total power of 390kW, and the CLTC has a mileage of 650km.
In addition, other BYD models such as Han EV, Tang EV and best-selling models BYD S1 PRO and ATTO 3 were also exhibited at the auto show. It is worth mentioning that BYD S1 PRO is the best-selling electric vehicle in the history of Costa Rica so far, and the SUV ranks sixth in the Costa Rican car market (including fuel vehicles).
Since BYD entered the Costa Rica market, it has sold more than 2,000 new energy electric vehicles. As of 2022, BYD has ranked first in local new energy electric vehicles for three consecutive years.
