According to Germany’s “Auto Weekly” reported that BYD executives revealed that the company may consider exporting two SUV models to Europe — Yangwang U8 and Formula Leopard 5.
The report also says that BYD has confirmed that at least one Yangwang U8 has already been shipped to Europe, where it will be on display at the Geneva Motor Show at the end of February.
The Yangwang U8 is a luxury SUV with “Easysquare” four-motor technology + in-situ steering, and is priced at 1.998 million RMB for the luxury version, which comes with a 49 kWh battery and range-extended engine, and will have a combined CLTC range of 1,000km.
Equipped with BYD’s DMO hybrid platform and Cloud Van-p intelligent body control system, the Formula Leopard 5 is powered by 1.5T + dual-motor, with a combined maximum output of up to 505 kW, a peak torque of 760N・m, a zero hundred acceleration time of 4.8s, a CLTC pure electric range of 125km, and a combined range of up to 1200km, with the domestic price starting from 289,800RMB.
BYD is now vigorously expanding the European automobile market, it was previously reported that BYD’s first car transport ship — BYD EXPLORER NO.1 has been loaded to Europe. In addition, BYD has become the official travel partner of the 2024 European Cup, and the posters show the logos of BYD, Tengshi, Yangwang, and Formula Leopard.This is the first time that the European Cup has joined hands with a new energy automobile brand, and the first time that it has ever been “married” to a Chinese automobile brand.
