Bose 550 Speaker released: priced at RMB 4999, supports TrueSpace enhanced acoustic technology

Bose recently launched a new Bose home entertainment speaker 550, which supports Dolby Atmos content, and is equipped with Bose’s unique TrueSpace enhanced acoustic technology. The new Bose Home Entertainment Speakers 550 can separate and precisely present instruments, dialogue and sound effects on the far left, right and right above the room, bringing a more immersive audio-visual experience. Priced at RMB 4,999, it will be available for purchase starting January 15.

The Bose Home Entertainment Speaker 550 streams media using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections, and SimpleSync pairs the speaker with compatible Bose headphones or Bluetooth speakers to further expand the listening experience.

When playing Dolby Atmos content, precise Bose digital signal processing, Atmos decoding technology and five built-in sound generators deliver sound to places where there are no speakers, for a surround sound experience. Two outward-facing runway-shaped drivers project sound horizontally across the room, while a central high-frequency driver delivers clear vocals. The two upward-facing sound units enhance the horizontal sound field and also simulate the sound above the head through sound refraction.

Bose TrueSpace enhanced acoustic technology can intelligently resolve non-Dolby content such as stereo or 5.1 channel through the built-in 5 sound units and re-synthesize the sound signals to bring an immersive spatial experience. For TV and music content, Bose QuietPort technology gives the speaker 550 a good bass performance, ensuring near-zero distortion at any volume.

The new Bose Home Entertainment Speaker 550 features a small, compact form factor that doesn’t add extra height while still packing enough sound-generating units to ensure no compromise on sound quality. The Bose Home Entertainment Speaker 550 measures 5.61cm high X 10.4cm deep X 69.4cm long and fits easily under the TV without blocking the screen. The overall body is designed in Bose’s signature black color and is surrounded by a metal grille.

The Bose Home Entertainment Speaker 550 is simple to set up, requiring only an HDMI eARC cable or fiber optic cable to connect to your TV.

The new product offers flexible streaming options for instant access to favorite streaming music services using Wi-Fi or Apple AirPlay2. Users can also connect their phones or tablet via Bluetooth to play content from their devices.

The Bose Home Entertainment Speaker 550 is also compatible with all other Bose speakers for a multi-room sound system or can be paired with additional Bose subwoofers and rear speakers for an even more powerful home theater experience. The Bose Music App allows you to set up, operate, and personalize the Bose Home Entertainment Speaker 550, and use the SimpleSync feature to get real-time firmware updates.
