It is learned from BMW Group officials that at the 2023 German International Automobile and Smart Mobility Expo (IAA MOBILITY, commonly known as the “Munich Motor Show” in China) that opened on September 2, BMW Group will bring the world premiere of BMW’s new-generation concept car (BMW Vision Neue Klasse) and the new electric MINI Cooper, demonstrating the company’s latest breakthroughs in the fields of electrification, digitalization and circular sustainability.
According to the official statement, the new generation of BMW concept cars is a vision of the future mobility envisioned by the BMW Group and will open a new chapter for the development of the BMW brand and products, as well as the entire BMW Group. As the first pure electric product of the new MINI family, the all-new electric MINI Cooper will open a new stage of brand evolution and make great strides towards full electrification by 2030.
According to the BMW Group, the upcoming BMW new-generation concept car, together with the previously unveiled BMW Dee digital concept car and the BMW i Vision Circular concept car (BMW i Vision Circular), combines the concepts of “electrification”, “digitalization” and “cycle forever”. The three dimensions of “Continuation” complete the company’s strategic puzzle for future transportation solutions.
The name of the BMW new-generation concept car comes from a series of revolutionary models launched by BMW in the 1960s. According to BMW, the upcoming BMW new-generation concept car will be based on an architecture completely designed for pure electric vehicles and a new design language. It has three characteristics: 1) Newly developed electronic and electrical architecture, as well as a new concept of user interface and human-computer interaction; 2) Newly developed batteries, motors and electronic control systems that take into account high performance and high efficiency. 3) The circular sustainability level of the entire product life cycle has reached a new height. This is a concentrated expression of the BMW Group’s strategic direction of “Electrification, Digitalization, and Circular Sustainability”. Related technologies will be the basis for the development of BMW’s entire product line in the future.
As the fifth-generation MINI three-door model, BMW said that the new electric MINI Cooper has further upgraded the brand’s most classic minimalist design with unique and interesting innovative digital technology, and endowed it with a more emotional and personalized expression.
According to previous news, the new electric MINI Cooper is expected to be launched in 2024, and will also enter domestic sales and localized production.
